本課題は、アメリカ合衆国、サンフランシスコにおいて毎年開催されるアジア系アメリカ人映画祭を対象とする都市人類学研究である。アジア系移民は、歴史的に主流社会からしばしば排斥の対象とされてきた。例えば、第二次世界大戦時、日系アメリカ人はアメリカ国籍の有無に関わらず、日本にルーツを持つがゆえに、強制収容所に送られた。アジア系移民による映画制作・上映活動は、アジア系の歴史経験を想起し、エスニック・コミュニティの形成・維持に欠くことができない活動である。また、こうした文化、抵抗運動と労働が不可分にある現在の彼らの活動状況を踏まえて、新自由主義における労働概念の再検討をおこなう。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
By focusing on the cultural and artistic activities of Asian Americans, this project has pointed out the limitations of economics itself, which has been organized within the framework of labor, monetary value, and the market, including economic indicators such as GDP, and has also constructed a detailed ethnic description of social creation through labor, as well as an argument for expanding the domain of labor. In addition, it has presented the question of how we can think about activities and social movements that straddle wage labor and free labor amidst the expansion of cognitive capitalism.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
株式資本主義、認知資本主義が拡大するなかで、貨幣的価値以外の価値はますます軽視される社会構造になってきている。貨幣的価値を中心としたルール作りは、言うまでもなく社会のあらゆる場面に、-教育、医療、福祉、テクノロジーの刷新に-到るまで、ネガティブな作用をもたらし続けている。それにもかかわらず、価値についての議論は、日本のアカデミアにおいて十分に普及しているとは言い難い現状がある。申請者は、新自由主義批判の議論にとりわけ労働を中心に据えた価値を展開することによって、新たな現状を突破する切り口となりうる視点を提示するに至った。
