| Outline of Research at the Start |
アフリカの女性は世界で最も近親者による暴力被害を被っており、特に障害のある女性ほどそのリスクは高い。しかしながら、どのようなメカニズムで障害のある女性が近親者暴力を受けるに至っているかは明らかになっていない。
本研究は低中所得国から収集される大規模ヘルスケアデータを使用し、アフリカ圏の女性において障害と近親者暴力の間に存在するメカニズムを解明することを目的とする。これによりアフリカ圏の医療政策決定者およびヘルスケアワーカーに対し、近親者暴力を撲滅するための具体的な知見を提供することを目指す。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The results of this investigation revealed that in Uganda, factors that could negatively amplify the association between women's disabilities and domestic violence include the husband's alcohol consumption and his educational background, when physical violence was the outcome. However, such factors were not found in South Africa. These findings suggest that in Uganda, targeting households where husbands consume alcohol or have a lower educational background with specific interventions could be effective in breaking the link between women's disabilities and domestic violence.

この研究は、障害を持つ女性に対する近親者暴力の要因をウガンダと南アフリカで比較することで、地域特有のリスクファクターを明らかにした。学術的には、夫のアルコール消費と教育歴がウガンダでの暴力のリスクを高めることを示し、これらの因子に介入するような社会政策を打ち出すことで、障害を持つ女性の近親者暴力のリスクを低下させる可能性がある。これにより、障害を持つ女性が安全に生活できる社会の構築に貢献し、持続可能な社会の実現に寄与することが期待される。
