Outline of Research at the Start

7研究室は分子解析チーム(林、柚﨑)、回路・行動解析チーム(池谷、久保、三國、米原)、技術開発チーム(根本)の3つに分かれる。分子解析チームはシナプス可塑性のナノスケールの分子機構に主眼を置く一方、新しい分子解析技術を回路・行動解析チームに提供する。神経回路・行動解析チームは、記憶に伴う神経回路の再構成をシナプス可塑性に重点を置き解析していく一方、分子解析チームに対して有用なプローブや操作技術などのアイデアを出す。このように3つのチームがそれぞれの研究を進める一方、国際先導研究の枠組みを活かして、国内拠点および海外拠点と相互交流することによって、新しい技術開発と研究を強力に推進する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2023年8月には遺伝研 米原教授の主催で、第1回リトリートを行った。これは、まずお互いどのような研究を行なっているかをお互い知るためである。国内の7つの研究室からPI、若手教員、ポスドク、大学院生の参加があり、一方、Max Planck Floridaから4名のPIおよび準PI、Univ. Bordeauxからも2名のPI、それぞれ若手(ポスドク、院生)も8名、以上計14名の海外からの参加者があった。全部で、ポスター50題を数え、大いに研究交流が促進された。さらに海外からの若手は、リトリート後に日本国内の研究室を訪れ、実際に研究所の見学を行った。うち、一人はその後、京都大学にポスドクとして留学している。
2023年11月には研究代表者がMPFIを訪れ、研究に関するセミナーを行なったほか、本コンソーシアムに関する概説を行った。
2024年2月にはMPFIのイメージングコースに2名の若手を派遣した。それぞれレクチャーおよび実習に参加した。
2024年3月には研究代表者、および研究協力者4名がボルドー大学を訪れ、Keynote Speechを行ったほか、個々の研究者との交流を深めた。
そのほか、研究分担者柚﨑の研究室から、MPFIに共同研究のため若手を派遣した。これはその後、共同研究論文の出版につながっている。

予定していた交流計画(リトリート、留学長期1名、短期2名を達成したため。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2024年には9月にMax Planck Florida研究所にてシンポジウムを開催する。日本側PIは6名が出席し、各研究室から最低2名の若手研究者を帯同する。またBordeauxのCajal courseに2名の若手を派遣する予定である。また可能であれば、teaching assistantを派遣する予定である。PIの相互訪問も予定している。
一方で、留学希望者はいるものの、必ずしもパートナーの2つの研究所を希望するものではない者が場合がある。この点緩和すべきか検討していく。
