Outline of Research at the Start |
Japanese ODA organizations have existed in Indonesia since World War II; much of the implications for local skill and human resources development are not yet fully understood. Indonesia is the largest Japanese ODA recipient in ASEAN and local communities perceived it very positively. Thus, this research evolved on the roles and engagement of Japanese ODA relevant to the local socio-political economy and human resource advancement.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Published two papers in international journals (i.e. ABS rank 3 out of 4) in AY2022. Have operationalized the data gathering through virtual mode interviews, transcribed the audio files, and analyzed and managed the database for future research collaborations and research-led teaching between AY2022 and AY2023. Based on data gathered from diverse stakeholders, there is one paper I am currently working on, i.e., supplier development. My co-author and I aim to submit this paper to an international journal (ABS rank 4) by December 2023. Equally important, my 13 months JSPS post has deepened my scholarly and policy-informed research on the role of the Japanese third sector directly engaging, delivering and policy-formulation on sustainable human capital development in the emerging market economy of Indonesia. On 10th July, my host, Yuki Tsuboyama-sensei supported my seminar at Hitotsubashi. I was able to conduct a fruitful knowledge exchange based on my JSPS experiences with about 25 diverse audiences (e.g., Master students, PhD candidates, junior and senior faculties).
