Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have promoted the study on applied linguistics for CALL (Computer-assisted Language Learning) and e-learning using ICT (Information and Communication Technology), especially advanced speech processing and natural language processing technology. We have developed a CALL system which is effective for the students of beginner's class and intermediate class to improve their speaking ability of foreign languages. We have prepared multimedia teaching materials which are useful for Japanese students to inform foreigners of Japanese culture and customs in several languages and to take a lively part in the front lines of the strained international relationship in the recent age of globalization.
