Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study considers how local communities are reconstructed from a super giant natural disaster for longer terms, especially of livelihood/economic recovery and changing disaster subculture, focusing on Aceh and Yogyakarta regions, Indonesia, affected by the 2004 Sumatra and the 2006 Central Java earthquakes, respectively, and then empirically points out conditions for community-based approach to the post-disaster reconstruction in terms of interacting relationships between recovering space, inhabitants' perspectives and social reorganization, based on the multi-layer actors model.
