Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purposes of this study are to clarify the significance of student assistants in learning support spaces and consider the development program. New types of learning support spaces like learning commons are becoming popular in college and university libraries in North America since around 1990s. The components can be classified roughly into (1) facilities and equipment, (2) materials, and (3) services. This study, focusing on services by student assistants, conducted a questionnaire survey of higher education institutions and a field survey of progressive learning support spaces in order to clarify the actual conditions of learning support spaces and student assistants as well as discussed the significance in learning support and considered development programs.
