Research Abstract |
Between Germany and Japan there exist a huge number of cultural and social differences. On the other hand, through globalization we are facing many of the same challenges. I am convinced that it will be very useful for both Germany and Japan to work together in the field of sports- development and -promotion. Sports club in both countries generate the highest revenues from menbership fees, donations and cost-related services performed by members. One third of all sports clubs in Germany and about 70% of them in Japan does not have a balanced budget. However, sports clubs can try to react to societal changes (e.g., a decrease of public subsidies) by increasing revenues from other sections such as membership fees and sponsoring.
