Research Abstract |
The decline in the rectal temperature was observed after sleep onset. The distal (thenar of the thumb and the plantar area) - proximal (infraclavicular fossa, the navel, and the thigh) skin temperature gradient during first sleep cycle was measured as the heat loss index. There is a significant positive correlation between heat loss index in the first sleep cycle and the aerobic capacity score. The present findings suggest that a decline in aerobic capacity enhances a lower distal heat loss capacity during sleep. The heat loss index during the first sleep cycle was not improved significantly by aerobic exercise training (50%HRR, 30min, 3 times/week, 4 weeks).
