Research Abstract |
The main objective of this study was to bridge the theory and concept of World Englishes to the practices of teaching English as a global language. More specifically, the researcher tried to clarify concerns of and create the benchmarks for teaching English as a lingua franca. Through this study in the past three years he presented his findings at several conferences, produced articles and a book on this theme. He is also about to publish Global Activator as a textbook and another book for teachers, World Englishes in English education in Japan.
