Research Abstract |
In this study, I considered a characteristic of the inland traffic in the Japanese ancient times about the use of the station system in the Province of Kai. In addition, I clarified the originality of the way of the production of horses in Japan by comparing the legal codes of Tang with Japan. In a joint work "Traffic and Society of the Ancient Mountainous Region", I elucidated that the enforcement of the station system in the mountains area by the central government gave big influence such as movement of the large-scale population or the development of the land to the area.
