Research Abstract |
This study elucidate the thoughts of the city building in Hiraizumi, which has become the World Heritage Site, using the GIS, a geographical information system. By making the database of detected evidence of the ancient structure found at the excavation, the geographical relations among the individual data will be analyzed. Based on these, the thoughts of the city building from the wide point of view, the geographical environment surrounding Hiraizumi will be elucidated. By making the database of detected evidence of the ancient structure, the city structure of Hiraizumi was restored. From the geographical environment, surrounding Hiraizumi, the relations between facilities and the ridges and the relations between the sunrise and sunsets were considered. It is effective for the continuous investigation in Hiraizumi, for materials' accumulation, and for the analysis of them to manage the information about ancient structural information and to pile the data by GIS software.
