Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research will examine EU Regulations on international families and analyze the problems that might occur when those Regulations are applied to the citizens of non-EU states including Japanese people. EU Regulations are applied not only to the citizens of EU Member States but also to the non-EU State people. However, those Regulations are so-called “inward-facing regulations” primarily giving priority to the EU citizens, and might sometimes cause problems when applied to the non-EU people. This research will focus on the issues of cross-border divorce, maintenance and matrimonial property, and analyze what problem would specifically occur.
