Research Abstract |
We could obtain four significant findings based on some basic and applied researches. First, we introduced some social skills education into schools in order to clarify how this should be conducted at schools and how teachers assess students' social skills could be trained. Secondly, we developed a Zoo- U Japan as a game kind of assessment tool by collaborating with researchers in the U.S. and compared Japanese students with American students about social skills scores. We recognized that there were some interesting cultural differences. Moreover, we found that teachers' attitude influenced the effectiveness of social skills education strongly. Finaly, we conducted a research on the development of emotional literacy from preschoolers to high school students to establish frameworks for curriculum. These findings suggested how the curriculum should be organized at each school.
