Research Abstract |
This study examined (1) latent classes of inmates' misconducts, and (2) effective factors on the misconducts in both individual- and environmental-level, with about 700 female prisoners in F prison in Japan. Growth Mixture Models revealed that there were two latent classes; "High rate and increasing class" and "Low rate and decreasing class." Hierarchical Poisson Regression Models also found that two variables (past misconduct rates in the individual-level, and crowding rates of prison plants at the environmental-level) and their interaction had significant and positive effects on prisoners' misconducts.
