Research Abstract |
We have been observing massive-star binaries with a long orbital period of about 1 year or longer. Because high sensitivity is necessary for elemental line and absorption such as CNO, we used the grating spectrometer of the "XMM-Newton" satellite. We used the Suzaku satellites to get a broad band spectrum to find a mass-loss rate of the stellar winds. We found that observation results could not explain in the simple model of standard colliding winds. The estimate of the mass-releasing rate using the absorption columns are useful.
