Research Abstract |
Upon basic research of large scale self-organized molecular structures by non-covalent weak interactions, new methodology have been developed for multi-porphyrin assemblies using inclusion abilities of cyclodextrin for water soluble porphyrins. Here, Synthesis of a host porphirin with 4 cyclodexistrins of each surfaces, that is, total 8 cyclodextrins, which formed porphyrin assemblies with water soluble zinc porphirin (ZnTPPS) were reported. Sterical arrangements were affected for energy transfer efficiency from ZTPPS to central host freebase porphirn. These observations indicated that photo functions in assembly could be freely controlled by the molecular structure.
