Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Many women are aware of a degradation of memory from their pregnancy to puerperium. Accordingly, a longitudinal study of cognitive functions and related causes was done from early pregnancy to the first month of the puerperium in order to bring to light women's cognitive functions throughout these periods, particularly change in memory, attention and any related causes. As a result, no clear degradation of visual memory, language memory, attentiveness or concentration was found from early pregnancy to the puerperium. In addition, women who experienced abnormalities during delivery showed a trend for degradation of attention and concentration during their puerperium.
