Research Abstract |
We investigated whether salt excess itself induces erectile dysfunction (ED) independent of hypertension in Dahl salt-sensitive (Dahl-S) hypertensive rats. In Dahl-S hypertensive rats, MR antagonism without antihypertensive effect had protective effects against ED. Salt excess induced ED independently of hypertension. Salt excess may directly injure penile tissue through MR activation.
