Research Abstract |
The aim of this study is to develop the components of an integrated navigation-guided laparoscopic surgery system based on our technologies including surgical navigation, instruments, and robotics, which can establish the new surgery such as an endoscopic fetal surgery and water-filled laparoendoscopic surgery (WaFLES). We have developed these 3 components; a) Realtime updated surgical navigation system using intraoperative 3D Ultrasound image, b) 2 way usable forceps with Least-Incision Transformable Endeffector (LITE) mechanism and elastic retractor for WaFLES which make less artifact on ultrasound image during surgery, and 3) navigation-guided laser ablation robot system with distance map based control inside ablation target region, which could achieve higher safety of ablation process.
