Research Abstract |
After looking through the exhibition catalogues of Japanese art from the late 19th century to the late 20th century in the British Museum, it became clear how the curators' understanding of Japanese art changed through 100 years in the British Museum. It clearly illustrates that in the late 19th century, collector's understanding was reflected on collecting policy and exhibition of Japanese art, but it gradually changed throughout the 20th century.
