Research Abstract |
In this study, there are three themes such as (1) the economic effect of long-term care in Japan, (2) reorganization of senior housing market in Japan, (3) the relationship between price and services of senior housing in Japan. The results are as follows. (1) When estimating the economic effect of Japanese long-term care sector by input and output analysis, we conclude that Japanese long-term care sector which is categorized as labor-intensive has less impact than others in terms of the first effect but the whole impact including the second and the third effects can be more than others. (2) After the legislation of a new kind of senior housing featuring monitoring and consulting service, Japanese senior housing market has expanded rapidly and it is possible that the new one would replace traditional ones in the future. (3) The price of senior housing is strongly related with the number of care givers. But attention should be paid because that number is not real but advertised.
