Research Abstract

To measure the impact on Aedes aegypti populations of top-down key container management alone versus the addition of house screening with insecticide treated materials (ITMs) in which PBO (piperonyl butoxidae) was added to strengthen insecticide effect against permethrin resistant Ae. aegypti.ITM use is an effective strategy for reducing Ae. aegypti infestation even among an area with permethrin resistant Ae. aegypti when PBO was added in ITMs; however, key container management should not be considered simply as an addition to ITM distribution since it seems to have little impact on reducing mosquito density at least through a top-down and transient application in our study area.
