Outline of Research at the Start

水泡性角膜症とは角膜が浮腫混濁をおこし視機能に重度の障害を起こす疾患である。人医療では、角膜移植術や角膜内皮移植術が適応となるが、圧倒的に角膜が不足している。獣医療では、組織・臓器移植の普及はなく点眼療法による治療方法の開発が待望されている。申請者は眼科用表面麻酔剤であるオキシブプロカイン点眼液が犬水泡性角膜症の角膜の浮腫混濁を改善する効果を有することを発見した。申請研究では、待ち望まれている水泡性角膜症の点眼療法を創り出すために効果発現の機序を明らかにする。
