Outline of Research at the Start

1930年代の国際政治史に関する研究は、国・地域ごとに細分化されたものが多い。本研究では、ヨーロッパ、アジア、国際連盟の相互連関に着目する。その鍵は、ユーラシア大陸の外延部に広がる権益を有したイギリスの対外政策を精査することにある。1930年代におけるイギリスの対外政策は、限られた戦略資源の配分を地球規模で検討する性質を有していた。国際連盟という組織は、イギリスが広域政策を展開する主要な場として機能し、1930年代後半まで一定の役割を維持した。上記の性質と利害を共有したフランスとの外交関係にも着目する。本研究は、1930年代の国際政治史を広域史の観点から一次史料に基づき再検討するものである。
