Outline of Research at the Start	いわゆる「資源の呪縛」論に代表されるように、これまで天然資源と国内・国際紛争の関係については膨大な研究がなされてきた。しかし、そのほとんどがマクロなレベルでの相関関係の分析にとどまっており、天然資源が国内・国際紛争にいたるミクロなレベルでの因果メカニズムはまだ明らかではない。本研究は、偶然起こった出来事を利用する自然実験のリサーチデザインのもとで、地球上の油田開発に関する詳細な地理データ、245万人以上の回答者を含むグローバルな世論調査データ、そして3,800万件以上の記事に基づいた紛争のイベントデータなどを分析し、ミクロレベルの仮説を検証していく。
