Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

The multiple-resonance (MR) effect, which arises from the appropriate placement of nitrogen and boron atoms within a π-electron system, is a widely recognized molecular design principle for achieving highly efficient and sharp emission spectra. However, the application of this effect has been limited to the field of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) to date. Thus, there should be significant unexplored potential for utilizing their excellent luminescence properties. In this research project, we focused on the high photoluminescence efficiency of MR molecules and investigated their potential for application as sensing materials. As a result, we found that the coordination of fluoride to boron causes a red-shift in absorption and PL spectra.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
