Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、発達障害者の注意、集中の問題を改善するために、発達障害とワーキングメモリの関係を明らかにするとともに、ワーキングメモリを強化するニューロトレーニングを創出するものである。具体的には、脳波、心電図、顔の微小表情、視線の動き、微細な体動を計測、解析し、これらの情報を統合し注意や集中、感情の状態を可視化し、この情報を用いることで、最適な集中状態を維持し、ワーキングメモリを強化することができるニューロトレーニング法のデザイン、簡易トレーニングシステム開発を行う。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study focused on children with learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders, particularly their challenges with executive functions, especially working memory. We developed a neurotraining method to improve cognitive functions, utilizing a multitasking game that showed improvements in cognitive functions such as "updating" and "identification" after two weeks of training. Although the dual N-back task for working memory did not show significant differences, there were tendencies of improved performance in tasks like arithmetic. Future challenges will include exploring more appropriate assessment methods and implementing long-term training.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

学習障害やADHDなどの発達障害に関連する実行機能の向上を目指したもので、マルチタスクゲームとデュアルNバックタスクという2種のニューロトレーニング法の効果を検証した。結果、マルチタスクゲームは認知機能の一部を改善する効果を示し、脳活動解析からも実行機能の向上の兆しが見られた。この研究は、ADHDや自閉症を持つ子どもたちに対する新しい治療法の開発に貢献し、実行機能の改善が学習能力向上につながる可能性を示した。
