Outline of Research at the Start

再生可能エネルギーの主要電源化に向けて、需要と供給のバランスを取るための調整力の重要性が高まっている。本研究では、近年普及しつつある太陽光パネルやバッテリ、EV、空調などの分散型エネルギーリソース (DER) を活用したカーボンフリーな調整力創出のためのアグリゲーション技術について研究を行う。従来はアグリゲータが全てのDERを最適化する集中型のアプローチが用いられていたが、計算量の削減が大きな課題であった。本研究では問題を階層的に解決する階層型アグリゲーション手法を提案し、計算量削減を行いつつ、プライバシー保護や快適性/利便性の考慮など新たな価値も与える。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、近年普及しつつある太陽光パネルやバッテリ、EV、空調などの分散型エネルギーリソース (DER) を活用したカーボンフリーな調整力創出のためのアグリゲーション技術について研究を行う。2023年度は本研究の理論的成果を実証するために空調に特化させたアグリゲーション技術を主に開発した。空調は能力を調整することで需要と快適性のトレードオフを探索することができるため、アグリゲーション技術において主要なDERとして知られている。特に2023年度はスケーラビリティや柔軟性などのそれぞれに特化したアグリゲーション技術を開発した。また、実証実験の動作確認や準備も行なった。
アグリゲーション技術の開発については数理計画法に基づく手法と深層強化学習に基づく手法についてそれぞれ開発した。数理計画法に基づく手法では調整力創出指令の時刻や創出量などは既知という前提で、居住者の快適性や調整力創出、エネルギー消費の最小化を行う。評価実験より、100軒以上の空調アグリゲーション問題の解を現実的な時間で求めることができた。査読付き国際会議に投稿して発表予定である。一方、深層強化学習に基づく手法では空調アグリゲーション問題をMDPとして定式化することで、調整力創出指令の時刻や創出量は未知でも適切な空調能力の指令を出すことに成功した。特に、事前のシナリオが未知の状況でも居住者の快適性を可能な限り考慮して必要な調整力を創出できた。しかし、高々10軒程度のアグリゲーションが学習時間の観点から限界だった。この成果は引き続き評価を行い査読付き国際会議に投稿する予定である。

Reason

当初予定していた理論的研究は予定通りの成果を上げている。加えて、実証実験環境の構築や動作確認も予定通り進んでおり、おおむね順調に進展している。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今後の研究に関して、これまで通りの手法で推進する予定である。現状、予定通りに理論的研究は進んでいる。種々の計算機科学的問題についての解法を開発して計算機実験で有効性を示している。加えて、本研究では実証実験も予定しており、その準備も順調に進んでいる。2024年度は実証実験での評価も行う予定である。
