Outline of Research at the Start	先史時代の日本考古学において、青色片岩製石器の原産地を、四国東部か紀州さらには周防帯・蓮華帯のいずれに求めるかという重要な命題に科学的な証拠に基づいて議論するため、考古学的研究と地質学的研究との連携をはかる必要があった。近年、広域に展開する三波川変成岩地帯において、なぜ青色片岩が眉山-高越に集中するのか、この理由は温度・圧力条件の差異にあることが近年急速に明らかになりつつある。以上のような動向を踏まえた考古学と地質学の共同研究が本研究である。
