Outline of Research at the Start

ポリエチレングリコール(PEG)に対する抗体がヒトにおいても報告されており、特例承認されたCOVID-19 mRNAワクチンはPEG修飾製剤であるため、その安全性にも関わる可能性が高い。研究代表者らはPEG修飾製剤投与によってPEGに対する抗体が誘導されることを世界で初めて示した。しかし、PEGに対する免疫反応がどのように誘起され、誘導された抗PEG抗体がどのように機能しているか、背景となるメカニズムに関して明らかではない。本研究では、世界的に注目が高まっている抗PEG免疫のメカニズムを明らかにすることを目指す。
