Outline of Final Research Achievements

We developed highly sensitive magneto-impedance sensor by use of pulse current excitation method and achieved pT sensitivity, which is necessary for cell tissue magnetic field evaluation. Magnetic fields generated by spontaneous electrical activity in the mouse and guinea pig tissue preparation were measured by use of the developed highly sensitive magneto-impedance sensor. We confirmed that that detection magnetic signal is closely correlated with electrical signal and synchronized with electrical signal at the tissue surface. We analyzed current distribution in the cell tissue based on the experimental results. We concluded that the developed magneto-impedance sensor system is useful for cell tissue bio-magnetic measurement as well as for Magnetocardiography (MCG) and Magnetoencephalography (MEG).
