Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To develop a method to suppress plant diseases in seedling production by irradiation with violet light, a device for supplementary lighting using blue-violet LED lamps was developed and knowledge for the mechanism to induce disease resistance of plants and for optimizing lighting conditions were collected. The obtained results suggested that blue-violet LED supplementary lighting had a potential for protection of plants from diseases in seedling production but optimization of lighting conditions was essential. In addition, the sensitivity for blue-violet LED light might depend on plant species.
