Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To understand adequately the optics in the first half of the 17th century (from Kepler to Huygens), it should be noted the total change of sciences like mathematics, physics, metaphysics and logic. We analyzed the big change in these areas, especially by focusing on Descartes and his contemporaries like Fermat, Morin and Mersenne etc. and clarified the pivotal role of knowledge in early modern that the optics played.
