Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, I tried to clarify the function of sensation in Plotinus and analyzed his theory of aisthesis, which is integrated into his philosophical structure. Through the critical reading of texts, I confirmed that Plotinus interpreted Plato's thought and that he developed his own theory concerning the function of sensation which is dynamically connected to intellectual judgement. In this way, I have have sought to re-evaluate the significance of aisthesis in Plotinus' aesthetics.
