Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, I aimed at the development of the teaching and learning from the point of the metacognition how used the mathematical expression on the purpose of the mathematical power of expression. I surveyed a precedent study about the teaching and learning of the number line in the elementary school arithmetic. On the basis of it, I described the learning guidance of the number line and placed operational expression and symbolic expression in each stage. Furthermore, I identified the specific example with those metacognition. Based on the above-mentioned result, I examined an ideal method of the learning guidance of the number line in a unit of the multiplication and division of the decimal in the fifth grader concretely.
