Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To clarify the distribution pattern of mitochondrial DNA and RNA in cultured cells, in situ hybridization and polymerase chain reaction was performed. However no distinct observation was obtained. Ubiquitin like 4A (UBL4A) is a cofactor of valosin containing protein (VCP), which is associated with cancer metastasis. Inhibitory effect of UBL4A in STAT signaling was found. Chronic inflammation with steatosis of the pancreas appears to be an important predisposing factor for pancreatic cancer.
