Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to reevaluate the relevance of Plato’s Meno. I firstly undertook a scrutiny of the main text, Meno. I also explored to what extent it affected Aristotle, Hellenistic thinkers, and other philosophers. One of the main results of this research was to establish the exact role and scope of recollection regarding “who recollects what”. Another achievement is an updated Japanese translation and commentary on the Meno, which is set to be published by Kyoto University Press.
