Research Abstract |
A preparation of Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZ) solid electrolyte via a sol-gel method was examined. A precursor sol for the LLZ was successfully prepared by an optimization of ingredient concentration, i.e. acetic acid, water, alcohol, lithium acetate and lanthanum acetate. It has been well known a cubic LLZ possesses high lithium ion conductivity compared with its tetragonal phase. The cubic LLZ could be obtained by a calcination of the precursor at 1100oC which was 130oC lower than conventional methods. Subsequently, a preparation of basic precursor sol for LLZ was also attempted by using NH3. In the basic precursor sol, it was found that a rate of gelation was much faster than that of the acidic sol, allowing us to reduce a preparation time.
