Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The underlying pathogenic mechanism of preeclammpsia(PE) remains unclear. It is thought to be associated with uteroplacental ischemia and endothelial dysfunction. Annexin A2,including syncytiotrophoblasts, is a member of Annexin family. Placental expression of Annexin A2 as determined by immunohistochemistry was signifiantly higher in PE groups compared with the uncompliated pregnancy group. Placental Annexin A2 mRNA expression was significantly elevated in group 2(PE cases with acute worsening of symptoms necessitating immediate pregnancy termination) compared with the normal pregnancy group and group 1(PE cases without emergency termination of pregnancy). These fidings suggest that worsening of PE might alter Annexin A2 expression at the transcription level.
