Rolling neutrophils form very unique structure called "sling" at the front of rolling cells, and this structure stabilizes the rolling at high shear stresses. Our data suggest that the behavior of adhesion molecules on sling plays important role in deep vein thrombosis since the migration of inflammatory cells occurs at relatively high shear stresses.
