Outline of Research at the Start

人獣共通感染サルマラリア原虫は東南アジアにおける新興感染症として注目され、マラリア根絶への障害となっている。最近、ベトナムの特定の地域においてサルマラリアの再興がみられたことから、「なぜ特定の地域の集団だけに人獣共通感染マラリアの再興が起こるのか」を、住民、媒介蚊、それが保有するマラリア原虫の調査を通してその要因を明らかにするとともに、人獣共通感染マラリアに対し、その地域に即した新しいマラリアの感染対策の提案をすることを目指す。
