Outline of Research at the Start	板東ドイツ人俘虜収容所研究において、基礎的な資料研究を推進し、日本関連文献資料を調査・研究する。すでに板東収容所の収容所新聞の翻刻・翻訳は刊行されているが、鳴門市ドイツ館にはまだ調査されていない関連文献が数多く残されており、戦後日本に残った元捕虜たちの中には日本文化を研究し、日本文学を翻訳紹介していた者たちが残した資料文献についても、いまだ十分に調査されていない。本研究は捕虜収容所の周辺資料の調査・整理とともに、こうした捕虜たちの日本関連資料を調査研究し、板東収容所体験を機に彼らドイツ人が日本紹介や日本研究を発展させ、それが日独文化交流へとつながっていくという実相を明らかにしていく。
