Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では日本人英語学習者を対象に，（1）これまでの英語授業で，夢中になって活動や学習に取り組んだ経験があるか，あるとすればいつ，どのような状況で経験したか（質問紙法），（2）学習者エンゲージメントが生じる先行要因やその成果にはどのような要因が存在するか（質問紙法，インタビュー法），（3）上記で得られた知見を踏まえ，エンゲージメントを引き出す英語授業を計画・実践し，学習者の取り組みや英語力を促進することは可能か（実験法），を検証する。本研究は研究代表者が全体を総括するが，これまでに共同でプロジェクトを行ってきた研究協力者ら（小中高の教諭）の協力や助言を得ながら，研究課題に取り組んでいく。
