Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、先史時代を中心とした遺跡出土建築部材のうち、屋根に関わる加工技術と、屋根構造の形態及び構築技術の変遷から、先史時代の建築技術の実態を考古学的に解明することを目的とする。対象資料は、遺物である建築部材と遺構である竪穴住居址や掘立柱建物跡などからなる。建物の上屋構造は、気候条件や入手できる木材の種類により、地域的に特徴のある建築構造が採用され、時期的な技術変遷が起こると推測される。特に屋根構造は、風雨や積雪、日差しなどの気象条件を反映しやすいと考えられる。そのため出土建築部材のうち、屋根構造に関する部材について、地域的・時期的変遷を比較検討することで建築技術の実態を考古学的に解明する。
