Outline of Research at the Start

研究代表者のこれまでの研究により、戦国大名大友宗麟が鋳造させた大砲は、ポルトガルが伝えた西洋式青銅製後装砲（仏郎・佛朗機砲）の影響をダイレクトに受けたものではなく、日本よりも先に大砲が伝来した東南アジア製大砲の影響を多分に受けていたことが証明されつつある。
本研究は、西洋式大砲が東南アジア各地で、どのように受容され、どのような特徴を持つに至ったかを把握することで、東南アジアの何処から日本へ伝わったのかを解明するものである。
研究手法としては、①型式学的方法を用いる考古学的成果、②歴史学の成果、③蛍光X線分析・鉛同位体比分析を用いた科学的成果の３つの視点による成果により総合的な検討をおこなう。
