Outline of Research at the Start

A thermochemical energy storage system with a gravity-assisted moving bed reactor based on nano SiO2 coated K2CO3 1.5H2O is proposed to enhance both heat storage/release power and volumetric energy storage density simultaneously. (1) fabricate nano SiO2 coated K2CO3 1.5H2O particles;(2) analyze the flow characteristics and overall hydration/dehydration kinetics in the moving bed reactor numerically to realize the enhancement of heat and mass transfer and reaction conversion; (3) evaluate the thermal energy storage performance of the TCES system with a moving bed reactor experimentally.
