Outline of Research at the Start

ブータンの鳥類を傷つけず血液採取からDNA Barcodeによって遺伝情報を蓄積する．ブータンの鳥種の半数以上が渡り鳥であることから，付加的にヒマラヤ地域の鳥種の多様性情報も蓄積することができる．鳥のバイオタグとして，相利共生のウモウダニ類を調査する．
シロハラサギはブータン国内で2023年現在．野生で24羽が生息するのみで，本種を絶滅から救うことが急務であり，(1) 現存個体のヘテロ接合度を調査し，(2) 世界に存在する剥製から過去の遺伝構造を解明，他国の個体を用いた遺伝救助の必要性を検討し，(3) 統合個体群モデルを用いて保全策を実施した場合の将来の個体群動態と絶滅率を予測する．
