Outline of Research at the Start

従来の抗がん剤はDNAやチューブリンを標的とする細胞毒性物質が主流であるが、近年、分子標的抗がん剤が多数開発されている。分子標的抗がん剤の新たな標的タンパク質として、転写制御因子の一つであるSTAT3 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3) が注目されている。
本研究課題では、STAT3阻害作用に基づく抗がん剤のリード創出に向け、STAT3阻害活性を有するphaeosphaeride Aの類縁天然物の網羅的全合成と生物活性評価、及びphaeosphaeride Aの詳細な作用機序解明に向けたケミカルバイオロジー研究を行う。
