Outline of Research at the Start

Duchenne型筋ジストロフィー（DMD）に対し、アンチセンス核酸でスプライシングを制御する治療が承認され、骨格筋症状の予後が大きく改善することが期待されている。一方で、骨格筋外症状の心筋障害、認知機能障害に対しては新規治療薬の有効性が不確定であり、発症・進行の予測と治療効果を評価可能なバイオマーカーの確立が切望されている。本研究では骨格筋外症状のバイオマーカーとしての循環血中ジストロフィンmRNAスプライシングアイソフォーム解析系を確立する。その成果により、骨格筋外症状の出現・進行の予測、治療効果を評価するシステムを確立し、さらに、正確な病勢評価に基づく治療体系を構築していく。
